We want to hear from you!

TACT is excited to announce the launch of a brand-new national survey aimed at understanding what people really think about Trusted Assessor services. This is the first survey of its kind and your experiences could help shape how assessments for equipment and home adaptations are delivered across the UK.

If you’ve recently had an assessment for independent living equipment or home adaptations carried out by a Trusted Assessor, this is your opportunity to share your views. Your feedback will help us understand what’s working well—and what could be improved.

Why Take Part?

This important survey aims to:

  • Measure satisfaction with Trusted Assessor assessments
  • Explore how equipment and adaptations are making a difference
  • Understand what really matters to people in their day-to-day lives
  • Capture real experiences to help improve future services

Questions cover everything from how the assessment was carried out, to the types of equipment or adaptations recommended, and the impact these have had on your independence and wellbeing.

Who Can Take Part?

The survey is open to anyone who has recently been assessed by a Trusted Assessor—no matter which organisation carried out the assessment. Trusted Assessors work across a wide range of settings including:

  • Local authority social care and housing teams
  • NHS hospital and community services
  • Housing associations and social landlords
  • Home improvement agencies
  • Charities, care providers and equipment suppliers

Trusted Assessors from across the UK are being encouraged to share the survey with the people they support, so that as many voices as possible are heard.

How to Get Involved

The survey is being managed independently by RIDC (the Research Institute for Disabled Consumers) and runs from 27 January to 15 April.

You can take part:

  • Online via this link: RIDC Survey
  •  Or by scanning the QR code:

  • If you prefer, you can contact RIDC directly for help completing the survey in a way that suits you best by emailing naomicare@ridc.org.uk

Your Privacy Is Protected

All responses are completely anonymous. RIDC operates under the Market Research Society Code of Conduct and ICO regulations, so you can be confident that:

  • No individual will be identifiable
  • Personal details will not be shared
  • TACT will not have access to individual responses

Copies of RIDC’s certifications are available on request.

  • Printed flyers

Any additional support you need to share the survey with those you’ve recently assessed

Just get in touch with the TACT team to discuss how we can help.

Working Together

We are delighted that key partners—including Housing LIN, the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), the Intersectional Stigma of Place-based Ageing project (University of Stirling), and senior independent Occupational Therapists—have helped shape this important survey.
Findings and recommendations will be published in May 2026, helping to inform future policy and practice nationwide.
