This practical two-day course is designed for staff involved in delivering, installing, adjusting, and demonstrating minor equipment and adaptations.

Typical learners include surveyors, technicians, delivery staff and handypeople. 

Who is it designed for?

  • This course is designed for staff involved in measuring, installing and demonstrating minor adaptations 
  • It provides an understanding of impairment of function and how this affects tasks and deals with safety and risk in the home environment 

What are the learning outcomes?

Equipment covered includes chair and bed raisers, bath boards, seats, stair rails, rails for toileting, raised toilet seats & frames, grab rails, perching stools and small household items. 

Learners are tauught how to demonstrate, risk assess and adjust minor adaptations to ensure they meet the needs of their clients. They learn about how the equipment can help with the tasks of daily living. 

The course is a good introduction to the level three Trusted Assessor qualification and ideal for staff working in community equipment teams. 

How is it delivered?

  • This is a two-day face-to-face course 
  • The course includes learner assessment within the two days with no separate homework
