Established in 2022 by its founder Clare Barber, Trusted Assessing and Care Training’s vision is to provide comprehensive programmes for health, social care and housing professionals involved in enabling older and disabled people to live independently.
Clare has been working in the health and social care sector for over 20 years having specialised for several years in accessible home environments. She is acknowledged as a leader in the development of the Trusted Assessor concept running accredited training programmes UK-wide. Clare devised the two national qualifications for Trusted Assessors at Level Three and Level Four.
Her team’s work benefits from the strong industry connections gained from our wider work and this current practice informs the team about the evolving needs of assessors and practitioners which in turn informs the development of future resources and training programmes offered UK-wide.
In 2023 TACT launched a range of training courses devised and run by the team that created the leading Trusted Assessor programme in the industry. Offering both Trusted Assessor, Trusted Advisor and related courses UK-wide. The following year, the team added a range of courses for OTs, a Trusted Assessor supervision service, Train the Trainer programmes and a specialist Trusted Assessor course for retailers of independent living equipment.
In 2025 we are developing a Trusted Assessor course specialising in wheelchairs and seating designed to provide a range of roles with the skills to handle simple cases and know when to refer more complex cases to a Therapist.
