This new course is designed for those working in contact centres or first point of contact roles who need to understand the basics of working in the health and social care environment.
Who is it designed for?

Call centre operators, administrators and any staff new to health and social care will benefit from this course. This course also provides a good introduction for those interested in completing the Trusted assessor: Assessing for Minor adaptations course.

What are the learning outcomes?

  1. Understand health conditions and their impact on independent living
  2. Know a range of roles and services within health and social care
  3. Describe communication skills when talking with vulnerable people
  4. Be able to list key indicators of risk when speaking with a vulnerable person
  5. List equipment and adaptation solutions that might be available
  6. Understand basic solutions to advise on independent living

How is it delivered?
This is a one-day face-to-face course which runs as a regular public course and can also be directly commissioned. Learners complete an assignment after the course to gain accreditation.
The course is also available as an online course, learners work through a series of interactive E-learning modules at their own pace and to fit around other duties.
